Rahnya and Khamillah

This was commissioned by Sivat.

I loved working on this. I worked on this one long enough that I started to feel like I was actually there. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, but more importantly so was my Sivat. Plus I'm getting alot more comfortable with hair painting. The main theme here was the classic barbarian pose with these two characters.

Rahnya - Fierce and proud, she used to be a slave in one of the great desert cities before being rescued by a barbarian hero that didn't truck with slavery or human sacrifice. When she offered herself as a slave to her savior, he showed his disgust with her weakness and refused to accept, dragging her to the ruins of a long-dead "Amazonian" civilization, showing her what she could become, and then putting her through rough training. She toughened up, found confidence she never knew she had, and was practically reborn, reshaping herself in the image of the female warriors who had passed away long ago(the reason for her unusual haircut). Rahnya traveled and adventured with the barbarian for a time, growing close and eventually drifting apart as their moods drove them. When they eventually came upon an ancient temple that "cursed" them and anyone they made love to with immortality(though they can still be killed), they split up to discover what possibly living forever would mean for each of them. A few years later, Rahnya would meet and rescue the love of her life, Khamillah.

Khamillah - She was a pampered priest's daughter from one of the great desert cities, eventually fated to be married off to a merchant prince against her wishes. She had always hungered for a life outside the confines of her social status, and was drawn to the mystic arts of the cults and sorcerers of the city. When the caravan taking her to her future groom was attacked, she was rescued by Rahnya. The two quickly grew close during their trials, and eventually fell deeply in love. She's far less of a combatant than Rahnya, but is wiser and more subtle. She is growing adept at certain forms of subtle magic and mysticism, even as her fighting skills are far below average. She has become a true believer in Rahnya's growing dream of re-establishing the dead "Amazonian" civilization that inspired her
